This is a terminal result: pdcomm_gem_handle_event() returns #PDCOMM_OK, only the matched pending request is released, and code holds a PDCOMM_GEM_ERROR_* value. State changes that depend on the request are rolled back as for a failure (for example S1F13 returns to #PDCOMM_GEM_NOT_COMMUNICATING).
